WOMEN’S ITALIAN-AMERICAN CIVIC LEAGUE

Scholarship: $1,000.00

Deadline: February 3, 2010

ELIGIBILITY:

An applicant must be of ITALIAN ancestry and 2009 graduate of a Utah school.

CRITERIA:

The scholarship is awarded based on the American Test (ACT) or Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) college entrance exams (40%), exceptional high school academic ability (40%), extracurricular (school, church. community service work related) involvement (20%). To be considered for this scholarship, the applicant must be admitted as a matriculated (degree-seeking) student by the applicant’s chosen institute of Higher Education.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Completed application form. (See attached for details.)

2. Official transcript with a copy of ACT or SAT scores.

3. Outline of extracurricular activities.

4. Summary of future educational goals.

5. A personal essay (maximum 300) describing:

a. Applicant’s Italian ancestry

b. How this ancestry has influenced their lives

AWARD:

The scholarship is paid directly to the successful candidate.

OTHER CONDITIONS:

Upon scholarship acceptance the recipient is required to submit a recent photograph and short biography. Both items will be published in the All State Italian Day Book. Scholarships are awarded b y both the Men’s and Women’s Italian-American Civic League’s. You are encouraged to apply for each chapter’s scholarship. **However, one recipient MAY NOT receive both scholarships.

Optional, list family members or friends who are active in the Italian-American Civic League.
